Ford has revealed GT Carbon Fiber Supercar, as part of the company’s plan to release 12 new Ford Performance vehicles by 2020.

The car is expected to enter production in 2016 and will only go on sale in selected markets to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ford GT race cars.

GT Carbon Fiber Supercar will be powered by 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine capable of producing more than 600 horsepower.

The EcoBoost technology is already available in new Ford car and is also being used for the company's light-duty pickup vehicles.

The call will features new port/direct dual fuel-injection setup which is expected to improve engine response, along with low-friction roller-finger-follower valvetrain.

To facilitate quick gear changes and driver control the twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine is being paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle.

The supercar features a sleek, aerodynamic, two-door coupe body shell, rear-wheel drive, and mid-mounted engine.

Ford has used lightweight materials, including carbon fiber and aluminum to build the car which makes -acceleration and handling easier.

It also features state-of-the-art chassis, racing-style torsion bar, and pushrod suspension with adjustable ride height, 20-inch wheels, and a F1-style steering wheel which integrates all necessary driver controls.

Ford CEO Mark Fields said: "As we at Ford drive innovation into every part of our business, it's worth remembering that our first innovation as a company was not in a laboratory, but on the racetrack."
